Plans for Galway City Ring Road given green light

  1. Too late, but better late than never I guess.

The traffic in Galway is absolutely eye wateringly nightmarish for such a small city. It’s bunged up in and out from all directions and has only been getting worse for years.

I just hope this, like all our previous infrastructure projects, doesn’t go four times over budget and take 30 years longer to build than they say.

  2. I honestly think Galway is the worst city in Ireland for congestion. Nightmarish. The city has grown but the infrastructure didn’t.

  3. Is there anything to be said for building a tram line instead, which could reduce the dependency on cars and ease congestion?

I know it could be more expensive, but if other small European cities can have this, why can’t we?
