The traffic in Galway is absolutely eye wateringly nightmarish for such a small city. It’s bunged up in and out from all directions and has only been getting worse for years.
I just hope this, like all our previous infrastructure projects, doesn’t go four times over budget and take 30 years longer to build than they say.
Has anyone told the Greens yet? They’ll not be pleased.
Is this gonna cause the traffic though to be worse whole they build it? Looking at that junction at brier hill…
Great news!
I honestly think Galway is the worst city in Ireland for congestion. Nightmarish. The city has grown but the infrastructure didn’t.
Is there anything to be said for building a tram line instead, which could reduce the dependency on cars and ease congestion?
I know it could be more expensive, but if other small European cities can have this, why can’t we?

Too late, but better late than never I guess.
