Fucking hell lads, fair play. Shades of that Guinness ad with Michael Fassbender swimming across the Atlantic.
>over 3,450 nautical miles rowed, Mr Browne became the first person in history to row from New York to Galway
Fair play to him.
I wonder what happened to extend the distance.
From NY to Galway is about 4,800 Km, and that’s about 2,600 Nautical Miles.
Adding an extra 35% in there is no mean feat.
I assume it still counts, and that missing the official finish line isn’t 100% as important as just making landfall on the coast of Galway. It’d be shite if he had to do it again like
Just had a breeze through the instagram there, this is fucking monumental.
How the fuck did he do this
Fair play to him, was originally two of them but the other guy got sick and had to be rescued from the boat but he continued on, what a boss!
For clarity: he was forced ashore by strong currents short of the Port of Galway. He still made landfall, just earlier than intended and short of the “official” finish. He covered 99.9% of the distance so I’d be inclined to call it a win, even if he was technically “rescued”.
Row row your boat 9 dozen days and nights
Merrily merrily merrily merrily, sure his arms are sore as shite.

An absolutely incredible achievement.
