Does my heart good when I see the same ad for an overpriced, repurposed office for short term lets only being relisted every few weeks on daft.

1. The country’s gone crazy. Seen an ad on the facecloth earlier for a room for rent, 150 a week but it’s only available 5 days a week. Parents renting out their kids room while they’re in college. Here give us 30 quid a night for a room in our house that you can’t really keep anything in because our kid will be home Fri night and wel be piking you out there at the end of May. Madness

2. If you want to cause a bit of inconvenience for the landlord, I’d almost guarantee that the satellite dish to the front is unauthorised development. In fact, the whole conversion from an office to habitable accommodation might be an unauthorised change of use.

   You could check the planning register but why bother when a quick email to plandept@kildarecoco.ie, setting out your suspicions, will let them check it all out for you.

3. 1300 a month for a renovated ground floor office? Ah here…
