French Capitalist Pierre Castel accused of Tax Evasion by Swiss Authorities. The french man, who moved to Switzerland to escape socialists, has allegedly defrauded the Swiss Government of 420 million euros

  1. Switzerland is pretty strict about domestic tax evasion. Yo have to be able to provide your business records for the last 10 years. Most countries i know of, it is about 5.

  2. The Swiss authorities are very welcoming to rich people coming here to avoid taxes in their homeland and pay taxes here instead. If you’re rich enough, you might even cut a special deal with them and pay even less.

    There’s a few things the Swiss don’t like though. Don’t make a scene by being a rich asshole here. And don’t defraud the doemstic tax authorities or skip paying what you owe. They don’t take kindly to that. You best be rich, invisible, paying on time.

    Even de-industrialisation and de-localization in the 90s was largely a way to fuck the government over for being too socialist, and the rest of the French with it
