Before I press the link I’m gonna go with multiple organ failure due to heart/circulatory issues which is a very common cause of death in very old females.
Edit: Ah,, “old age” I’m guessing everyone was fine with skipping an autopsy, not surprisingly.

I don’t think they were likely to reveal it as anything other than “old age”. Only peasants have heart attacks and strokes and other physical illnesses.

Can’t believe she was taken at the tender age of 96. A Shock.
It was bone cancer that did for her. Not really sure why this can’t be published, at 96 you’re pretty likely to have some kind of cancer. Just the general rule that what applies to everyone else, doesn’t apply to the royals I guess..
Doesn’t really tell us much. Old people still die of something specific, it’s not like the body suddenly decides “yep, that number is way too big” and gives up. I guess they didn’t want to provide too much info about a royal’s health.
I hope when I die I’m such an elite being that I just fade away due to old age and not actually die of cancer or pneumonia. Queens so lucky that she just died of death.
