  1. Where’s the best place to follow these sorts of events online? I’m in Laois and I’d love to be a part of something like this.

  2. For those interested, the event was hosted in TOG Hackerspace in associate with Change X.

We plan to hold alot more events in the upcoming months.

  3. Great stuff OP, I must get to one of your future events. Have a Gaggia Classic that is about 20 years of age with a broken down pump and I need a hand to fix it as Im afraid I would mess it up on my own. Must buy a new pump and try to get to your next event

  4. My friend lives in Holland and says that all electronics that go to the dump get inspected and if possible repaired- where they are sold on cheaply.
Ive retrieved several items from the dump/recycle center that Ive managed to fix easily or with parts- some I was not able to do anything with so they went back on their WEEE journey. The amount of stuff people throw out is unreal- especially working items that would just be hassle to sell on or so cheap that people just buy a new one. Often parts online for power tools/appliances are more expensive than the actual item was to begin with.
I think this is a great idea and hope the nationwide roll out goes well.

  5. It was absolutely great. Got stuff fixed, and got great tips and advice. Lovely people, thank you for a wonderful afternoon.

  6. Op, can you explain how this works?
Is it about learning to fix stuff yourself or having people there to fix stuff for you?

  7. It would be great so see more of these sorts of things, especially further up north.

Sounds like it would be a great way to teach the public about Right to Repair and to help folks save money especially considering the current Energy price and general Cost of Living situation.
