Petition for general ban on smoking in public | If reached 4500 signatures, a public debate is held.

  1. I keep wondering… Is there something like “counter petition”? I’m a non smoker but really think that this is going overboard. Banning inside, sure. But outside is really too punishing.

….. as I’ve said the last time this was posted.

Now, more generally, I think that petitions are always very skewed towards one point of view. I really would like to be able to sign a petition saying that I’m *against* the proposal.

I remember a petition during the pandemic that had a frighteningly high number of votes even though everyone I know was vehemently against it. But that sentiment was not at all visible in the petition giving it a very misleading impression.

Edit: op’s post is obviously encountering resistance on here. Just like the last time this was posted. And while the sub is by no means representative of the general population it’s evident that there is a non zero number of people against this proposal. Yet, this fact remains invisible in the petition.

  2. I don’t care about people smoking wherever they want, but why do they just throw the butts on the street? There are plenty of trash bins everywhere. Especially around outside of bars and cafes.

  3. You wanna cut a good portion of government revenue to trade it for general health increase? A decent topic to address for once
