In the meantime, with such an inevitability, they will be able to dismantle all social programmes of the UK and leave an utter disaster for Labour. Ruthless, cruel, and callous without any national interest at heart, but that’s petty party politics for you…
Shame the Tories won’t want to call a general election for another 2 years when they have to, and by that time either Labour will have shot themselves in the foot with some faux pas, or they’ll be some hyped up reason like a vaccine rollout or something to persuade people to vote Tory again…
I tell you what, I’d like to think anyone could win a General Election now. Even I could. You wanna know my manifesto and beliefs? “Transparency and *Just, do, the right thing’ .*
That’s what my entire cabinet would be based on. Doing the right god-damn thing for the good of the country and everyone in it. Also transparency is easy if you’re doing the right thing, no?

Yes, I’ve thought about it.
I hope that Labour will organise the MOTHER OF ALL WITCH HUNT for everyone who has benefited from favours / backhanders / VIP lanes etc etc.
If your mental health depends on a Labour win. Start preparing now. The tories havent started their election drive. This sub is not an accurate reflection of UK opinion.
The lowest of low hanging fruit policies, the media slander campaign, the divided left. The tories will win the next GE.
My FiL is a very rich and successful man and has completely bought the “it was all Boris” line. He also approves of Truss “just getting on with it”. As well as “ha! Good luck to you if you want to trust the Labour lot, we’d be even further in a hole with them in charge.”
These are laws of the universe in his mind.
Nah, can’t be. People on this subreddit told me he was incredibly unlikable and that Corbyn would have been better right now.
This Mini Budget is just a cash grab by the Tories to get themselves and their mates as much money in the next two years because they know its going to be a long time before they are back in government
Don’t underestimate Labours ability to fuck up a winning position.
Sincerely hope not but we need unity to get rid of the Tories.
It would be nice to see what Labour’s policies are going to be other than “we aren’t the conservatives” if they are actually going to fix things.
All Labour have to do is not stick their own foot in it. 2 years is a long time for a party that likes to self destrct with purity over victory.
I am conviced 100% that Labour have it in the bag if Starmer backs PR, then again I think it is 90% in the bag even if they don’t, again assuming no stupid infighting.
Lol Kier isn’t ‘popular’ in the traditional sense. It’s like deciding what turd people want to step on, a little turd or a very mildly bigger one. Still a turd. I feel the media fail to make that point.
I wonder what Starmer will have in the speech to lessen that lead..
OK, so what do we think Starmer can say that will destroy this lead.. Labour seem remarkably proficient at scoring own goals, lately.
Tougher sentences for minor drug offences?
There has to be something spectacularly stupid that Labour has in the works, right?
I should add; I want the Tories out… just that if we had a remotely competent labour party, that didn’t keep eating itself like the ouroboros, this would have happened a long time ago.
When the Tory party out Torys most Tories so they move to the party more in line with their Tory sensibilities.
So they fuck it all up for Truss. They get in. The next guy fucks it all up for them. Then the next guy fucks it all up again to get in. Then the next guy bitches about how shit the last guy was and fucks it all up for them. Then you and I cant afford food.
I’d treat this with caution and not count your chickens before they’ve hatched, the election is two years away and the polls said Theresa May’s conservatives had a 18-20 point lead going into the 2017 election campaign after which their majority was lost. The Tories had a ~20% lead two years before the 2010 election but that didn’t turn into a majority either. Things can change.
Yes, the Tories are a mess. But they’ve been in a mess before and the voters have elected them anyway. One key difference might be that Corbyn is gone, Starmer isn’t fantastic but might be an easier pill to swallow for more moderate floating voters. There is enormous ground that needs to be regained because 2019 was an unmitigated disaster for Labour.
Go on Keir, score some more own goals and gift public sentiment back to the Tory cunts ruining this country. We all know you can do it.
Can’t wait for Labour to get in and ruin the country just as much as the Conservatives and then blame the Conservatives for it.
my worry is that labour are just watching the train wreck that is the current government and saying they will do everything opposite to the Tories knowing that’s what people want to hear, and when they get in power do nothing and blame it on their predecessors constantly.
Sadly they are going to be the lesser of 2 evils come the next elections as while other parties are more likely to do what they say they are going to do, they don’t have the backing to get into power
Not surprising considering the situation. She’s got 2 years though so it could be that it’s just a panicked reaction and we get the desired growth.if not, and I doubt it is then the next election will be a cakewalk for labour. I owe my new career to decisions made directly from Boris so I always supported him and never cared at all about “partygate” since it doesn’t actually affect policy or get in the way of anything important.
I liked his vision of resuscitating British industry and taking the lead on technology. Truss and KK seem to be cancelling all the major decisions that voters backed him for, made radical policy shifts, seemingly taken a wrecking ball to the economy and nobody’s even voted for her.
I was unsure of Stalmer, whether he could control the far left and keep them from taking power half way through his term and enacting their policy without an election…. Irony eh. Unless a miracle happens I’ll be backing him at the next election.
just in time for the tories to pass labour the incoming financial crisis they’ve created
Keir has decided to stop being Keith once and for all
I’m a lifelong Liberal, but for the sake of all that is good, we need the Tories out now, and forever. If this means that I vote for Labour, then I will gladly do so. Besides, I like Kier.
I thought Starmer was wholly unelectable and unlikeable according to the upvoted comments on this sub /s
