Given the amount of people trying to actively flee from Africa, I don’t get why adoption should be a last resort.
I don’t get this.
They already work with several tiers in adoption procedures
– family or social network
– community
– country
– international adoption
Only if the level above isn’t feasable they look at the next tier. So all children that are elligable for international adoption have already passed the other levels and weren’t adopted.
This isn’t some new idea, this is afaik how the system already works, as described in the Hague Adoption Convention. We already ratified it, so why should this be new?

Pleegzorg en adoptie zijn 2 totaal verschillende situaties om als “ouder” in te zitten. Succes ermee, mensen die een adoptie willen hebben geen zin om een kind te “delen” met (vaak) onverantwoordelijke biologische ouder(s)
