what do you norwegians think about brazil?

  1. I worked there from 2009 to 2011, and I can’t say I was surprised a few years later when i found out that Djilma and loads of Petrobras people got indicted on corruption charges.

While I did enjoy the night life, work life was frustratingly inefficient .

  2. Honestly, it seems like a freaking dangerous country, but that’s also my opinion on most of Central and South America.

  3. Easy sex and drugs,

That one Rio bird talk thing.

    Hot indigenous girls.

    Fucking the amazon

    And good memes.

Those are the things that come to mind when I think of Brazil.

  4. Know most about it through training Brazillian Jiu Jitsu under Ricardo de La Rivas school when I was 19 to 20 yesrs old, and got to get instruction from him too. It’s a great culture in those gyms! Friendly and helpful, so god damn fun, full of humor. Even though I was the only Norwegian kid there, not even speaking the language – that year I spent with those guys I didn’t once feel left out. I was one of them immediately. Thinking of brazilians still makes me smile!

  5. Brazil was one of the first countries that recognized Norwegian independence in 1905, something we should be grateful for. I think it’s sad how politics divide Brazil these days, whith the consequences for the Amazon, Coronavirus spread and poverty that this leads to. Brazil is such a great country in many ways, hopefully they manage to sort out their situation soon.

  6. As a norwegian i doubt ill ever leave europe. Im not a the type of person wanting to go to exotic places. I dont like long flights. If i want to see how people in the 3rd world lives with my own eyes, i might visit malmö.

  7. Seems fascinating, sort of wanted to move there for a while, but the crime rates have deterred me.

There is usually a Brazilian in top 10 of all eSports, and many good mods for games are also developed by Brazilians..

  8. Today I read about a fotball match where the referee stabbed a player multiple times, the player died on his way to the hospital, then the audience stormed the field, stoned him to death, decapitated him, and put his head on a pole in the middle of the field. So, yeah…

I’d put it like this: Brazil is a very sexy anthill, I like looking at it from afar, but I’m not about to ask for consent and stick my dick in it.

  9. I love Brazil. I’ve been there a few times kite boarding and it’s a great place. Good food, friendly people, inexpensive and nice weather. Not sure if I’d live there, but a great place to go on vacation!

  10. I feel bad that Brazil is stuck with a poor democracy. Norway isn’t perfect, but it is far better than any two party system

Also depressed over how much rainforest you cut.

  11. Brazil?

I think it’s too bad that they’re chopping down so much rainforest, treating their poor like shit, have a lot of problems with violent crime and rampant corruption and are led by what one might call “The Tropical Trump”.

That’s what I think about how the country is run.

As for the people? I don’t know. I’ve never met someone from Brazil. I’m sure it is like most places though, that they have jerks and saints like everyone else does.

  12. Eita kkkkkk e aí norsk folk! Saw a lot of people talking about Brazil here and not one brazillian person replying so I just wanted to say, we really are a country of ups and downs, lot of downs and big ones at that, but ignoring politics and all (I may be biased) but we’re kinda alright

  13. My dad went to Rio de Janeiro once because of work, and said it was a nice place. But also said he wouldn’t want to go back as he had an encounter with a guy following him and his co-workers probably trying to rob them. And one of his co-workers was actually beaten and robbed at that trip too, when he was going back to his hotel room. Was left with a broken leg, nose and some ribs.

  14. Bolsonaro is a fucking moron for letting the amazon be chopped down and there’s too much crime in general

Cool country, but it could do with a new government and a few reforms

  15. Been there. Absolutely stunning, but yeah, not a big fan of the crime. We’re in Rio two days and witnessed one shooting and two muggings

  16. I think i don’t want to get shot, stabbed or kidnappet, and the chance is quite a bit lower over on this side of the ocean.

  17. Some of the greatest MMA fighters of all time come from Brazil. Gracie family are as close as you can get to royal family within the sport. Anderson Silva is my favorite MMA fighter of all time and I’m glad I was around to witness his greatness. Not many could stand toe to toe against him.

Wild and crazy country full of beautiful people with wild hearts and even wilder spirits.
Glory days of Pedro II are long gone but Brazil still accomplishes greatness sometimes. Probably one of the most impressive things Brazil accomplished in recent decades was ending hyperinflation thanks to Edmar Bacha and the Cruzeiro Real. Not many countries have managed to pull themselves out of a crisis like that, but damn if you didn’t pull it off.

  18. Spent two weeks in São Paulo state (and a short trip to Rio de Janeiro). Very warm and welcoming people, good food, felt safe as long as took my precautions and listened to the locals. Would like to go back one time.
