Do Irish People Enjoy Watching the NFL?

  1. “Many of the Irish followers of the NFL also enjoy betting on games through reliable sites and apps provided by reputable sources such as this list of the best betting websites available”- what is this nonsense?

  2. No.

Some do, but I’d say personally anywhere outside of the USA it’s considered an extremely niche sport.
Like curling, or roller derby, or Chess Boxing.

The NFL are really trying to push their international presence at the moment though.
I was in London over the weekend & the southbank area was filled with NFL stands, promo’s & tack.

  3. It has a small but fairly dedicated fanbase here. Most pubs wouldn’t stay open for the big games on a Monday morning but when it comes to the Superbowl games they can pack out fairly big bars/halls for it and make a fortune off food/drink.

  4. Rugby is 100 times the sport American football will ever be.

I watched the Superbowl every year and I enjoy it thoroughly, and I used to watch my teams highlights on YouTube etc.

But it is extremely soul sucking to watch for the whole season, the stopping and starting play etc it’s the definition of explosive short bursts. The athletes are incredible but people over here like watching something with continuous play instead of start stop. .

I moved to Canada and now I follow baseball (fantastic) and basketball (also pretty good) hockey i haven’t followed yet but I have watched, but after watching all these I for me would put an NFL game at the very bottom of the enjoyment list.

Watch the Superbowl once a year it’s an enjoyable experience with the advertisements and entertainment in between. But the game itself is chronically hard to watch week in week out , even with those 10 minutes YouTube highlights

  5. I used to watch it back in the mid 80s, was a Chicago Bears fan, used to stay up.late to watch the matches, but they just dragged on too much and took up too much time, so I gave up on it a long time ago.

  6. It’s brilliant. But you have to spend time to understand the plays. Also there’s v little cheating. Can’t watch football anymore with all the diving and stupid var.
