Best thing ever for the Conservative party. End of Conservatism in the UK
Knock on will be a general election with a Lib-Lab coalition, then a change to PR and the Conservatives are done
Sometimes things have got to get really bad before lasting change can occur. The older voters have been ‘addicted’ to voting Tory for 40 years. They have been like kids in a sweet shop, bought everything they’ve wanted, all for loyalty to the party. All the while
everyone else has had to scrape by, watched opportunity, stability, progress, dissaper.
The hardcore Tories, the Thatcherite boomers, are dying off. The undecided, who aren’t ideologically tied to the Tories no matter how bad they do, will, hopefully, see what’s going on and be forced to vote for something else. We can only hope that Labour, Greens, Libs, don’t shoot themselves in the foot, that they don’t do something stupid; because the UK is default a Tory nation, other parties have to do 2x the work with voters to be even considered.
We need a change. We desperately need new blood, new ideas, new drive. The Tories have literally devastated the nation, partly by ideology, mostly by incompetence. Everyone should be getting out there, to friends, family, colleagues, neighbours, and pushing for change. Things can get better. We just need to work for it together. The Tories rely upon apathy. They rely on things being so bad we feel powerless. The obstacles are too high. But it can happen. We’re coming up to a once in 30 years chance to change the direction of the country. We’ve just got to hold on, keep moving forward, we’ll get the bastards out soon.
I like that the doom posting has started actually including the term ‘doom’ to save you the effort of working out whether you’re about to find out another reason why you’re fucked.
