visiting mykonos, any places I should eat at / go to in particular?

  1. Eat at? Ha.. If you’re not a millionaire I wouldn’t suggest you to eat anywhere at this island.. Just buy some things from the local store and go eat at your room. Now.. If you insist.. Before sitting at a restaurant just check the prices first. A pizza can cost like 50-60€

  2. First place you should go to is a travel agent office to get a ticket to leave as soon as possible.

  3. The ferry finally left 😅 I got a piece of pizza on board. Surprised at how airy it was, yummy.

  4. Yeah, follow my guide.

    1. Go to the port.
    2. Get a ticket to literally everywhere else.
    3. Get inside the ship.
    4. Leave.

    Congrats,
    You saved yourself from bankruptcy.

  5. You are off season now so the weather won’t be the greatest. Mykonos is called “the island of the winds”. Hope you get some sun at least.

People in Greece don’t like Mykonos because it is an island for rich tourists. Very few Greeks go there and the ones that go are either wealthy or are celebrities. But you are off season so you might find cheaper prices now. Don’t be afraid to ask about the prices of everything before ordering, in case they are not indicated!

If you have some days there, you can always try to go to an island nearby as well. Look for the ferry hours. Tinos, Naxos, Syros all seem close so it could be an option.

As for recommendations for Mykonos itself, I have no idea, never been there but heard it is a party place.

  6. Costantis restaurant at Ornos and Tasos Taverna on Parangka beach (ask for the fresh fish they offer).
Apaggio restaurant (Ornos), D’Angelo restaurant for Italian cuisine (Mykonos), Rhapsody Bar (Mykonos, view of Little Venice) and many many more.
Beware! Take a look at the menu before you order anything. Mykonos is notorious for ripping people off.

  7. We’ve just spent week here. Found the restaurants incredibly overrated compared to other Greek islands – pretty expensive for would otherwise be a fairly average meal.

Places we liked and kept going back to:

Jimmy’s Gyros – €5 Gyros wrap, genuinely delicious

Nosotros – €10 Greek salad (best Greek salad I’ve ever had) and the Lamb.
