She committed the acts when she was a man, She was tried and convicted without being trans ever factoring into it.
Hate on her for her committing the acts, The fact she transitioned after is completely irrelevant.
But, Tory gotta Tory and since they have legalised denying trans people even exist then everyone needs to fall silent on the hate mobs attacking her for being trans or trying to equate being trans and being a pedo.
I am a gay man myself and it wasn’t long ago the Tories had section 28 and being gay was so often equated then to being a pedophile and made sure we knew our place in society. If you think the attacks will stop once they have finished dehumanising trans people, boy do I have a bridge to sell you.
Seems like someone has had a word with the social media bod
I know Dixon is the kind of person who deserves as little courtesy as anyone. But generally transgender and non-binary people argue that they use their current pronouns when talking about past events. The idea is that they were always meant to be their current gender, but might not have been willing or able to live that way.
The downside for TRAs in this case is that it means accepting that a sex offender who came out more recently was always trans deep down when she was actually committing the crimes. Not a good look when people are accusing transpeople of using their gender identity to get away with sex offences, even though Dixon was not legally recognised as trans or living as a transwoman when she committed the crimes.
It doesn’t exactly help for the Home Secretary to weigh in against a police force which has politely asked people to stop posting hate speech… Even criminals have protections under the law.
Whoever keeps pissing in this woman’s cornflakes, could you please stop?
She really just needs to keep her enormous beak out of these matters.
For many people using preferred pronouns is a kindness, not a statement of truth.
But using this as a reflection on all trans people is clearly wrong.

They weren’t wrong though.
