What I find _extremely_ worrying is that in such polls, two thirds of people say they had conflicts due to Covid arguments, and _one third_ says they cut contact with friends or family members due to diverging opinions on Covid.
One third.
Just … what is going on?
It’s becoming really hard to make new friends. As if it wasn’t hard enough
I left Facebook two weeks ago, I was tired of the sterile and hateful debates.
Fake news.
So, I’m not at all surprised by all these conflicts.
What I find sad is how many people can’t restrain themselves from debating this topic all the time.
I personally almost never discuss it with friends and family because it’s such a hot topic. A mild discussion is alright it but if it gets even slightly heated I move to something else. I don’t mind heated debates on other topics but with covid, some people just go wild very fast.
Also, it’s extremely disappointing to me how fast some people categorize and judge each other, no matter your perspective. Saying we need the certificate is not being fascist, just as much as saying the vaccine doesn’t always work is not being anti-vaccine altogether.
Vax Friends and relatives are getting increasingly aggressive and Offensive… After a week of work one doesn’t want to spend the Saturday night being called a sheep (or worse) and being constantly reminded that I’m about to die in a matter of days because of my non compliance. These people are simply cut off from my life, nobody has to deal with that.
What about reprocessing cow farts?

The situation is created by the coercive measures. Remove them and the conflicts go away, simple as that.
Making a second comment because I also have another point I forgot about:
I find it quite crazy how some people tend to put the blame of the whole situation on the people who don’t want to fully abide by the rules and “do the right thing”.
I mean, do you apply the same logic to everything ? Do you shun your friends and family members because they don’t recycle and contribute to global warming ?
Sure, I also think we should all get vaccinated, but just as much as I think we should all use public transportation, I don’t go around and tell car drivers that they should believe in Climate Change.
Covid is the problem, not the people who believe in a different solution.
