No shit Sherlock. Just a shame the ministerial code has come to be blatantly ignored by the government nowadays

  1. >It is unclear who would carry out such an investigation. There is currently no one in the role of Truss’s adviser on the ministerial code.

Can’t make this shit up 😂

  2. Simon Case won’t do anything. He’s a gutless weasel who is also guilty of breaching the civil service code during party gate. His sole concern is grasping the greasy pole of power.

  3. If this didn’t break ministerial code, there is a very serious issue with the ministerial code

  4. Ministerial ‘code’ means and always has meant jack shit since it is an unenforceable set of ‘guidelines’
Its almost functionally identical to the [pirates code in pirates of the carribean](https://youtu.be/k9ojK9Q_ARE).

It is especially true since Bojo swung in on a vine with a sledgehammer to any kind of accountability.

So the question is… Who gives a shit. It doesn’t matter what this government do because there isnt a damn thing anyone can do about it and they know it. Something would *only* happen if it was to be seen deteremental to their voterbase… Parties like this arent.

  5. “Ministerial Code” Not worth the paper it’s written on. Not like any of these cunts are honest and trustworthy anyway.

  6. What’s not reported is that each champagne glass at the event had an added 45% of champagne as per the trickle down theory and afterwards selected bankers and Gov’t functionaries, were allowed to lick the floors and furniture for free.

  7. The entire notion of the ministerial code is a joke. It’s a toothless fig leaf that lets the government undergo public flagellation for a period after which there are no actual substantive consequences, unless it becomes politically expedient of course.

  8. As if the Tories follow ministerial code. When you have no moral compass and greed is your sole motivation, it’s going to be ignored.

  9. Say law, he broke the law, its insider trading, he told a bunch of his mates to short the quid then he tanked the economy. It was on purpose, he acted against the interest of his country do make money for his friends.

If he had done what he did for a foreign power it would be treason.

  10. Tories being corrupt and ignoring the rules / law / human decency?

    Could we have some news.

Maybe a Tory, making a decision which is good for the country? Oh, it hasn’t happened yet…

  11. Like Ms Sturgeon he’ll be vilified in the right-wing press for months and months and then grilled for 8 hours by a cross-party parliamentary committee, wont he?

Or will he just be asked to fill in a voluntary questionnaire?

  12. The year is 2030. Lord David Beckham has submitted his public enquiry report into Kwasi Kwarteng’s drinks with hedge fund managers in 2022 and concludes that he *was* wrong. The report comes after an initial internal inquiry by the Conservative party in 2022 concluded “there was no wrongdoing” and that the party “considered the matter closed”.

In late 2023 this was followed up with the opening of an external inquiry by the Met police following public pressure. Years later, the police report had been beset with delays due to 2 changes of Met commissioner in as many years. In 2025 the Met released their final report concluding that the meeting could have constituted insider trading but declined to pursue the matter further as it was not in the public interest. In early 2026 the Good Law Project launched legal proceedings against the Metropolitan Police, citing their failure to pursue Mr Kwarteng despite adequate evidence of his wrongdoing.

By the time the proceedings and appellate process had finished, the year was now 2028 and the Metropolitan Police were poised to bring their case against Mr Kwarteng. On June 16th 2028 Mr Kwarteng was fined £500. When approached for comment Mr Kwarteng advised that he would wait for the results of the then recently-announced public enquiry that had been announced to assess whether the investigation followed due process and why £600million had been spent so far.

Now, following 2 years of interviews with waitresses and bar-patrons alike, Lord Justice Beckham has confirmed the findings of the Metropolitan Police and condemned the actions of Mr Kwarteng. When approached for comment at his Shropshire mansion, Mr Kwarteng —8 years retired from public service— reflected “yes perhaps things could have been done differently”.

  13. I’m sure the Tory party will investigate and apply the ministerial code as strictly as we have seen in recent years…
