Yesterday was Finno-Ugric people’s day, Hõimupäev in Estonian. It’s been organised since 1928 (with a pause during USSR occupation).

  1. A good time to remember our kin, who have been living under Russia’s rule, slowly losing their roots.

  2. I am confused, what does this map show?

The area where you can find ancestors of the people who spoke finno-ugric language in ancient times?

It says 2007 in the bottom right corner, does that mean in that year, people spoke finno-ugric in these areas?

Sry, I know very little about finno-ugric, didn’t know saami and estonians were part of it, etc. We learned in school that it is hungarians/magyars and finns, who are from this group, but living apart for centuries made them distinct. I know the meme tho, that estonia is finlands little sister.

  3. My hearth hurts due to Orban blocks our Finnish brothers from NATO against Slavic aggression. #hungarian #shame
