  4. I just read this on the BBC as well (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-63184412), we are so unbelievably fucked.

    How have we managed to assemble such a set of disingenuous, marshmallow-test-failing morons to be in charge of our country? I barely even care that they are self-serving, that unfortunately seems to be a requirement for political power, but to be so stupid that you’re willing to sacrifice your descendant’s survivability for the sake of immediate financial reward is just failing at basic fucking evolution.

  5. Tory line: “Actually it’s good for the environment, because when we burn our own gas it’s got lower emissions around its production than foreign gas … as well as supporting British jobs.”

    Damn foreigners again… Taking all our emissions and jobs digging into the North Sea for oil and gas.

    The licences are probably already dished out to foreign investors.

    But not only this, is he really trying to say that foreign gas production gives off more emissions than, British gas production?

    Where is the 250 million barrels of gas found by the Chinese in 2019 just east of Scotland?

    And isn’t this just to find gas and oil? They’re going to have 100s of companies trawling the North Sea and drilling for gas and oil?

    Then they’ll need to extract it and process it.

    And there is no guarantee that it will even be there.

    And yet, somehow, this is going to be better for the environment than shipping in gas. Is he talking shite?

    This is going to end up an expensive farce that we all will have to pay for. I’d bet that the companies involved have given him a big brown envelope.

    Nobody voted for this, g.e please. Tories are definitely dipping the till before they are ousted.

  7. The anti nuclear policy of the green movement has got us into this mess. We need energy security and it makes total sense to use our own gas, rather than pay Putin!

Let me translate his hullshit he means the Tory party sold your environment and stuff cheaply away and now you get nothing they make profits which they will not tax in the uk and we get some crumps of those billions extracted as donations into the Tory party and if we are especially good boys and help cover up disaster with the environment we also get a high paid consultant position when we get voted out.
