Be really wary of NHS studies on Long Covid. For example the top one is CBT and GET, both of which since the beginning of Covid have been advised against due to Post Exertion Mailaise which typically worsens the condition if you exercise through it as seen in ME/CFS and Fibromylgia. There is a big fight in medicine right now about Psychological interventions and exercise for these conditions, they should not be used but the cabal who have been using (and hurting ME/CFS patients) are desperate to keep their funding, hence this research.
Its obviously best not to participate in this type of research as its very likely going to make you worse (about 75% chance) with a small chance of it helping (11% but only if you don’t have PEM).
My mother is a life-long hypochondriac, spent many hundreds of hours and thousands of pounds on tests.
Unsurprisingly she is convinced she has long covid now (she may have despite being a strict self-isolator), like she was convinced she had parkinson’s disease before that and so on and so forth.
I’m curious how many people who think they have long covid but don’t will take part in these studies.
I would also warn people off these schemes, certainly the ones that are of a psychological nature.
