It’s an interesting idea, it sounds like it’s a modification of a GSHP. What I don’t understand is GSHPs are favoured because the earth acts like a massive heatsink/source – year round once you’re more than about four foot down the ground sits at around 15C with very little seasonal variation (this is just due to the shear mass of the earth being heated by the sun, rather than any significant geothermal heating). GSHPs then boost this up to about 30C for warm air using a single stage heat pump or 50-60C for hot water usually using a two stage system or with an resistive boost heater.
But by pumping the body heat down into these boreholes, they’re just sinking it into the earth? Unless they’ve got some particularly interesting geology around there, I’m not sure why the earth would be a very good insulator under the nightclub, as it’s mostly moist soil or clay. But, not an expert in these systems, just a curious bystander.
