    EDIT: Ja, dit is geroddel met een stylistisch touch.

  2. Tldr: Groen voelt zich gepakt in snelheid door rood op hun eigen domein. Ze hadden natuurlijk zelf graag de eer opgestreken met het energie kadoo.

  3. Gelijk wat ze beslissen: de belastingbetaler zal opdraaien voor de hoge energiefacturen van anderen EN die van zichzelf.

  4. I think Belgium needs some angry crowds with pitchforks and go full 1789 towards their consistently failing governement.

    As they might say it is because of supply and demand, i mostly believe this is because of poor legislation.
    But hey, you can always buy some expensive battery to avoid peaks or pay €20 more on your monthly subscription.

    But don’t you dare suggest shareholders to pay for this, we need them to put you back to the ratrace.

  9. Pointless, they’re stuck in a corner.

    There’s only one way to reduce the electricity bill and its what France and Spain are doing. They are using the rapdily increasing profits of cheap energy production like nuclear, wind and solar to pay for the gas and coal.

    In Belgium we are bound to the contracts we have signed with wind and solar producers guaranteeing their income with fixed subsidies. The nuclear operators have deals with the government not to increase taxes in exchange for the extension of the lifetime of the nuclear plants. The only profits we could potentially tax is those from residential solar panels which have no such deals. But the federal level would need to the regional governments to do that for them which is politically unlikely. Especially after the setbacks for residential solar in recent years.

    So we’re stuck, we’re not going to be able to lower the bill. We’re only going to be able to shift the bill. The middle class will have to pay the bill for the lower incomes. Or we’ll have to move the electricity bill to the tax bill by cutting taxes on the electricity bill.

  10. No matter how you turn it, this is a subsidy for fossile fuels. Not really what we would need right now.
