‘Everyone deserves a home’: Plans to house up to 250 refugees in Mahon receive mixed reaction

  1. Except young Irish people, I’ve nothing against any refugee and welcome every and anyone to our lovely island but this housing crisis is starting to stink and without going full conspiracy it looks like it’s by design

  2. I live 5mins down the road. On balance this seems like a good idea. I have some reservations about introducing a large number of people to an area thats already struggling socially and economically, but the site is unused and so long as there are additional supports beyond just ‘here’s a house figure the rest out yourself’ I think it’ll be good all arouns

  3. The FFG circle is complete…

…”we refuse to plan and build affordable housing because that just brings poor quality housing and social problems for isolated communities”…

…”let’s build prefab housing on this segregated land in this random spot for 100% immigrants without planning facilities”.

It is only a country next to UK Tories, and unable to look beyond the UK, that would allow itself to be so… Toried.

  4. Can anyone explain why I’m not getting a modular home as well? I know I’m Irish. I’m on the council list. I work full time and rent is expensive every month. I suppose I’ll remain on the council list for years while Ukrainians are getting housed.

  5. A law needs to be put in so they cant let any one in with out a vote by the people and if not every body wants it then it dosent happen
