These garden allotments must be worth a fortune. Those in Cessange are beautifully maintained and productive, but also appear to have been held for decades

The plots have little garden sheds on them. There were happy elderly couples and friends gardening today, even enjoying a glass of wine along with it. I thought they look great, I wonder how tightly held they are and whether it’s even possible to get one. I can’t imagine the current gardeners would ever want to let them go.
Anyone know how you get a plot?

In the city you can apply here: https://www.vdl.lu/fr/visiter/loisirs-et-nature/jardiner-en-ville/location-dun-jardin
I think the waiting list is years long.
I have heared rumors that in Esch the waiting list is 10+ years long. :O
Wife has one in Bonnevoie – the waiting list was indeed 3 or 4 years. On the other hand, rent on the plot is next to nothing, something like 150/year or so.
However, these are clubs that have their own peculiar rules and power structures that one has to either like or at least accept. E.g. you can paint your garden shed any color you like as long as it’s brown, or similar rules 🙂
