Buses didn’t stop! Two buses did not stop at this bus stop where I was waiting. I signaled the buses to stop too but the drivers just waved at me and drove on. Did I do anything wrong?

  1. Check the timetable. Perhaps they don’t stop there on weekends or they’re drop off only stops. There are stops like that on the Route d’Arlon and bus drivers just sail past people that will never be picked up and have no clue.. and probably get waved at by the next bus until Monday morning. 😉 For the drop off only the drivers stop 50 metres down the road and close the doors quickly so they can drive off without the prospective passengers being able to come aboard. Oh the power of these mighty people…

  2. This is not the real location of the bus stop.. it is badly placed on Google Maps. The stop is in fact on the route d’Arlon just next to the Tram stop (on the opposite side of the other bus stop you can see on the map).
I already filed an edit request a few weeks back but until now it has not been dealt with.

  3. “Signaling buses to stop” is not really a thing outside of the UK… Anyway, it looks like you’re referring to the bus stop “Stäreplaz/Étoile Quai 5”? The 16 and 812 buses don’t stop there. [https://www.vdl.lu/en/node/4422](https://www.vdl.lu/en/node/4422)

  4. This is an error on Google Maps
Same thing happened to me too. I submitted an edit but nothing has been done yet. The actual bus stop is near the tram stop

  5. Are you sure that these two lines are supposed to stop there? Just because there’s a bus stop doesn’t mean that every bus line that passes has to stop there. Read the signs at the bus stop to know which lines stop there. And waving doesn’t mean anything. Either the bus is supposed to stop there or it isn’t.

  6. Use mobiliteit.lu to find your stop. Google maps is unreliable and does only populate with user contributions.
And if you get lucky, the bus driver may wave you back as a friendly gesture before passing you by.

  7. Not all buses stop at every stop they pass by.
The 16 actually stops around the corner (rte d’Arlon), so no need to stop again there.
