This might be more an info for new arrivals in Luxembourg but maybe one can also save their parents / grand a parents from this phishing attempt before they fall for it.
The Luxembourgish Police or courts will never contact you by email. If they require your assistance the police will either ask to come to your local police station to discuss the matter or you get a request send by certified mail which you have to sign for as a prove you received it. In any way if you ever have a doubt just swing by at your local police station, there never is a matter requiring immediate action within 24 hours. If that is the case believe me the guys in blue will show up at your home 😂
Edit: the @aol is a dead give away. Any government email does originate on a .LU domain like xxxx@police.public.lu
l’exhibitionniste … 🤣
TIL aol is still a thing…
I mean….AOL 😂
There is also a Luxtrust phishing sms going around regurlarly. As a general rule no serious organisation is going to as for access data per email or sms
Is this the same as people masquerading as local police officers and scamming the residents?
Re: Urgente convocation / Justice
Monsieur Schrantz,
Veuillez trouver ci-joint ma confession.
ATT: Confession.doc.exe
I always wonder why these scams never manage to use official logos without ruining the aspect ratio of them.
Not sure if you already did, but always report it to the computer incident response team https://www.circl.lu/report/
Just reading the hilarious letter is proof enough this is a poor attempt to sound legit.
And the barcode number seals the deal.
Unfortunately some still take this seriously
Is anyone getting the one from France that tells them that they’re being accused of child porn?
