Can we talk about the fact that in 2022, the SNCB (Belgian railway company) is unable to set up a refund/cancellation system for tickets bought on their website/app ? How to democratize the train if something as banal as that is impossible? The SNCF (French railway company) does it very well!

Hell, every country seems to have refunds possible easily except Belgium.
Hmm a few weeks ago I had an issue and got a refund without much trouble. Just took a while, if I remember correctly it was through some form on their website.
This summer a Eurostar train was cancelled. They said we would be refunded within 4 weeks. Never saw a cent. They were cheap tickets so i can’t be bothered to go after my money, but fuck em!
The NMBS doesn’t care about its passengers at all.
We are just cattle with subsidies attached.
Everything is better in France!
I had the same issue recently, but fortunately I was able to find a cooking recipe for Moules Frites in the app, so that was helpful.
“Why make things easy when you can make them hard?”
Holy Damn, I never see SNCB, so used to NMBS
I wonder if that’s against the European callback regulations.
You’re supposed to be able to cancel online purchases up to 14 days after the arrival. Unless it’s about services that have already been used (like for magazine subscriptions, you need to pay for the already received magazines), or unless it’s custom made.
Train tickets match neither AFAICS.
I know I complained about them before, but since they are now literally considering removing my local *(and up to 700 other km of)* line; yup, I’m done with them.
Edit: oh that and the fact the authorities [cancelled/modified their plans](https://www.andrefrederic.be/_files/ugd/ff9056_9014efa0262e4177932f8207149f0454.pdf) (FR) regarding a RAVeL that was sort of supposed to follow the same path the railway was…
God forbid having cycling or rail infrastructure (in Wallonia) in this day and age!
What’s funny to me is that for the French people a sub like r/fuckcars cars is not enough, they feel the need to have one of their own, with a French name.
I also got a reimbursement recently for an online ticket. But they did say it was exceptional in their reply.
They have it. You go to the counter within 30 minutes to cancel. You get refund. You can also call their customers service if you want a refund on a ticket bought online.
