I read here [that](https://cyprus-mail.com/2022/06/24/coronavirus-paxlovid-now-available-in-cyprus-for-certain-covid-patients/) paxlovid medicine is available for prescription if a positive covid test has been taken.

Has anyone gotten it? Do you know if EU residents who are not yet in the Cyprus GESY are eligible? Can private doctors write a prescription for it? Can anyone get it or is it required to be in a specific high-risk group?

**In the article it says**

*”before issuing a prescription, doctors are asked to answer a questionnaire on the Gesy website to ensure that it is given only for patients who meet the criteria… For patients outside Gesy, or for prescriptions by doctors who are not signed up with Gesy, the questionnaire can be found on the health ministry’s website on Covid-19, on the following link:* [*https://www.pio.gov.cy/coronavirus/categories/emvoliasmoi-kata-tou-koronoiou*](https://www.pio.gov.cy/coronavirus/categories/emvoliasmoi-kata-tou-koronoiou)*.”*

..But I can’t find info through that link. I’d be much more calm in my soon-to-be moving to Cyprus if I knew this quite effective medicine would be available 🙂

Thanks so much!

  1. if your positive and your personal dr write that you belong in special high risk group you can get it from general hospital

  2. Hello! This medicine must be prescribed by a doctor. I know that my parents’ GP prescribed them this when they’d tested positive for covid and they had to go to the General Hospital to take it (from the pharmaceutical services of the hospital)

As you re an EU citizen you are entitled to Gesy. I’d suggest calling then tomorrow and explain your situation. They might register you automatically to Gesy or advise what steps you should take to get the medicine.
