Hej!
So our country’s(Hungary) national television (or should I say, propaganda machine) started to broadcast lies about other european nation’s situation and I want to know how much is it true, if any.
[This photo](https://imgur.com/a/5zqex8r) shows that you guys are moving out from your homes to camping because you can’t pay for electricity, heat and water.
Where could this info come from?
And BTW how are your standard of living degraded/will degrade in the next few months? It is not even winter yet, but because our corrupt and inept regime can’t govern for sh@t, there are many people that face HUGE bills for electricity, gas etc, and with our absolutelly terrible wages, we are living month to month.
If this post is not appropriate for this sub, please excuse me, I just want to get to the bottom of some big lies.
Hav en god dag!

Many people’s electricity bills, heating bills and other bills have gone up a lot. Some people have been forced to leave their home from what I read in a newspaper not so long ago. But most people are doing okay, they have a tighter budget but manage one way or another.
None of this seems true. There was one guy who made the Danish news for sleeping in his caravan now, but that was pretty much it.
My entire street and the nearby industrial area is switching their gas- and oil heating to district heating. There is road work everywhere. So yeah, my experience is that we’re switching to district heating, not to camping 😅
I kicked my oil heating and switched to heat pumps. It’s a lot cheaper and covers quite nicely.
I lige måde 😉
There was one or two examples of poor people doing what you say, yes. Like people on welfare. It isn’t a common thing but not an outright lie either. More like a small example being blown up maybe.
Standard of living is so far OK. Some of the poorest people are getting help with energy costs. But yes, depending on your energy/heat source some of us will be getting bigger bills (especially people with gas heating. some of them are crazy).
My personal heating bill is the same (district heating, no gas) and my power bill has risen maybe 20% recently. Power costs vary a bit depending on if you have a fixed cost deal (like I do) or if you pay the variable cost.
So yeah not great, but no catastrophe either yet. The vast majority of Danes will just pay up and be fine.

This is unfortunately true for some people. But as I understand it is mostly because of gas prices. But I don’t know how many people are affected like this. We have a tendency to go to the media if something is totally absurd. It is not the general case. But yeah, some people are affected.
These are two examples (in danish):

Basically it is horseshit. You can always find someone somewhere but your government is totally blowing it out of proportions.
