The medieval fortress of Chillon Castle, situated on the banks of Lake Geneva, is the most-visited monument in Switzerland, this is its history:

  1. I visited this castle this year and was really disappointed. Its interesting from outside but inside its empty and has absolutely nothing of interest to look at.

Everyone who has ever visited e.g. Schloss Nymphenburg in Munich is destined to feel let down visiting the Chillon castle because theres such a big difference on what you can see.

  2. The castle is great but the fact that it’s near a busy road and below a highway viaduct was so disappointing.

If there is something Switzerland likes it’s building highways close to cities and even into them. It feels like you can hear the highway from anywhere in Sion for instance, which kinda ruins Tourbillon Castle too.

EDIT: Here’s what you see (and hear) IRL when you visit Château Chillon, https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/07/Chillon_from_the_lake.jpg
