I’m in South East, my doc referred to physio for my back after my 3rd bout woth sciatica, physio writes to my doc saying he wants to see someone in rheumatology because he found evidence of swelling ony spine and all my joints, doc prescribed me 30mg codeine tabs 4 a day and gave me a blood test, few months later physio writes to my doc again asks I be referred to someone in rheumatology, the pain clinic and a specialist dermatologists in HS , doc prescribed me 30mg codeine 2 4 times a day, an anti depressant that numbs nerve endings and another blood test. 6 years later a referral was finally sent after my back and knees kept giving out and I ended up in hospital, 2 years after that and am still waiting on the appointment, my physio tells me my back amd joints are fucked and too late to do anything meaningful about it and if/when I finally get the appointment it will all focus on managing my pain.
I know GPS are under immense pressure and have been for years but they are always to quick to dish out pills
I was treated in Leeds for a bad accident. Left with open prescriptions for 120mg of dyhydrocodine and 1800mg of gabapentin a day.
Now I can’t take anything stronger than paracetamol for fear of addiction again
