I can’t believe even Tories are swallowing this us vs them narrative. Everyone wants growth, but nowhere near everyone wants to gamble any more… We’ve had that for 12 years.
They don’t need to be told. They’ll just have a 3 hour blackout one night.
I imagine most of the public will be trying to reduce their energy usage anyway, to reduce their bills.
I’d still rather the government gave the message though, like in Germany, to make it clear how big the problem is.
Wouldn’t want to bring down the number on that blank taxpayer’s cheque she handed to the fossil fuel industry.
I think we’re still in the denial phase of realizing that we have a genuinely, actually, blatantly, obviously, completely corrupt and illegitimate government. Yes, here, in the UK. This is NOT just incompetence.
With prices at record highs I think it’s unlikely that many people will be wasting huge amounts of energy anyway.
I hear Truss doesn’t want to nanny people . How pleased do you think people are going to be during unplanned blackouts.
