To be fair the Manchester christmas market is insufferable chaos
Sure, Christmas markets are mostly shit. But this article is primarily just about an unwise business decision.
>Restrictions also mean that traders are advised against having electric heaters or kettles in their stalls,
Trust local councils to come up with idiotic little jobsworth rules like this.
Sounds like it’s the usual fare of Councils having way too many restrictions and not investing in infrastructure. And then wondering why people don’t go to the Xmas Markets.
So what I’m getting is she’s upset her product is not selling and there’s not enough toilets and heating for the workers.
She could solve this by splitting the work into two shifts and selling something better.
My nana has so many scented candles she should open a Christmas market stall. People buy her them and she puts them under her seat in a drawer. She doesn’t want them.
Just as a comparison. we did a little Christmas market selling wood craft and linen table dressings, the local council gave us a small grant and couldn’t have been more supportive. It was a great couple of days we made some friends and nearly £200 which will help out a lot.
