  1. Also, before angry German speaking people start saying they buy Uranium from CIS/Russia. The largest Uranium deposit is in Australia, and Canada also has a lot.

  3. Germany should phase out nuclear at the same rythm they are phasing in renewables… not sooner!

    Each 4GW of renewables (mainly solar and wind) generate about 1GW.year (8760 GW.h since there are 8760 hours in one year) of electrical energy, so they can phase out a nuclear reactor (about 1GW for each reactor that tends to produce near nominal power all the time, so about 1GW.year).

    I believe that clear commitment to this sensible phasing out the nuclear reactors can be seen as a win for everyone involved.

    Of course, we should also be increasing electricity production to substitute gas in heating for electric heat pumps and gasoline in cars for batteries.
