why are the stationery items like a diary, notebook, pencil pens so expensive in Finland?

  1. Is 50 cents expensive? That is the price of a normal notebook used in school. I also don’t get why you wouldn’t order that stuff online

  2. Everything is expensive as it is. Add euro’s record high inflation on top of that and we’re off to the races.

  3. Depends whta you consider expensive. More reasonably priced alternatives exist as well. It’s not stupid to ask a high price, but it is to pay for one.

  4. Where did you buy them? I normally get my stationary from the local office store and this stuff is usually quite cheap. If Finland has one thing in spades, it’s paper.

  5. The only place I can think of where they actually are expensive is the University where literally no-one buys them anyways

  6. The black ones look like Moleskin Notebooks. Propably the most expensive notepad brand in the world. Ofcourse it is expensive in Finland too.

  7. I mean, yeah leather binded notebooks and journals are expensive everywhere. Go to tokmanni or even a k-kauppa and get them reissuvihko looking flimsy ones if you wanna spend next to nothing.

  8. Are you buying stationery stuff at suomalainen kirjakauppa/special store or at the supermarket? Bc the price difference is big

  9. Be glad you still have functioning, book stores and stationary stores. They’re pretty much entirely gone in the US, and that may not seem like a big deal, bit it’s actually quite sad and awful. Amazon ruins everything.
