There was an incident a few years back in Scotland where a train hit a cow, derailed it and people died. Cows on the line is a big fucking deal.
Fun Fact: In Pokemon Go/Ingress there is a rail station in Glasgow where the station picture is where a cow had wandered onto the line. Somehow it got through into the games
