Three people stabbed in incident near Liverpool Street Station in central London

  1. Good on them I suppose for trying to prevent a bike theft, but really you shouldn’t be trying to be the hero in such a situation. Just film it, stay away from the potentially dangerous criminal.

  2. We should classify attacking someone with a knife or similar weapon as attempted murder by default.

  3. Wasn’t there post here or in r/london about some dodgy guy asking questions to someone on a bike,? They walked off thinking they were after his or hers electric bike.

  4. INB4 teens complaining that they aren’t allowed into parts of London unless accompanied by an adult and wondering why (FYI not condoning this BTW).

  5. Just out of interest, why is there a lack of public outcry about a guy on his way to work being stabbed for a mobile phone? But by contrast a known gang member with a criminal history gets shot by the armed response unit and the public is talking about protests?

Three people on their way to work were stabbed over a phone, and there are people arguing as to why this shouldn’t be seen as attempted murder.

Am I missing something in my brain? How is there no backlash about this and families demanding arrests?

  6. In any situation like this just give the fuckers what they want – you go home, you see your family your kids your wife again, just hand it over.

Not worth a bike a watch a whatever it is, and you have way more to lose than someone stealing things, it is just never worth it.

  7. I find it baffling how anyone could be that angry at 9 in the morning. What happened from when he woke up to then?

  8. This is near where I work. Someone at my work recently had their phone snatched by someone on a food delivery bike in this area. And now this over another phone theft.

Careful in this area, hide your phone until you’re off the main roads, and even then be very cautious and look out for people on bikes. It’s so easy for it to happen, even if you are being careful.

  9. If your born in council house in London or social housing funds after the cuts by the coalition gov. You lost a lot of opportunities to higher education, better paying jobs that don’t mean getting stabbed, possibly being able to afford rent in London away from zero hours and minimum wage that doesn’t pay rent. A chance to meet and talk to victims of gangs and knife crime who reach out to you in schools or youth clubs that used to exist. It was small things funded by gov and councils that help compete against gangs who had BMWs and fast cash in council estates or at least places not to run into them and get pressured. With those budget cuts it makes things easier for gangs to recruit or to make thieving more appealing to get quick cash high risk to impulsive teenagers living in poverty and mould invested council flats or slum lord flats.

We went from some social service funding that was starting to make waves to prevent this and then it was lost with no alternative. Then more money has been put into or almost put into vanity projects in London that do nothing of value for poorest living there. No wonder gangs and crime is winning
