Birmingham to be impacted by rail strikes this weekend

  1. Might as well make this a sticky news bulletin at this point.

Also the online app was down and someone in the ticket office was threatening every traveller with a fine for not buying a ticket via the broken app.

Also the days they have been running, they’re running reduced services with not enough coaches during peak commuting hours – so it’s standing room only unless you’re damn lucky (and that’s assuming there’s a train to get on that isn’t a 40 minute wait).

    It’s a good service.

  2. My local main line train station usually has three people behind a wall of glass and then another three/four around the barriers.

I have never seen the ones behind the glass help a customer (I go through at rush hour, twice a day). I have only seen one of those next to the barriers help someone through because their ticket got mangled, or something.

So these strikes. They go from standing around doing fuck-all at work, to doing fuck-all with their feet up at home. All because they don’t want to retrain and be useful in the company they work for.

And it is very probable I am not the only one noticing this.
