With gas reserves well over 90% and rising steadily in Europe, gas prices have been dropping for three solid months now.
This both reduces the cost of gas, and reduces the marginal “last unit” pricing for non-gas power across Europe.
Keep it going!
Somewhere in the world a 70 yo dictator cries
So no more ‘gas crisis’ articles? Right?
I think Putin really didn’t count on the entire continent willingness to save on gas. It’s 4 degrees Celsius outside, about 17 inside and while I’m working from home I just turned on the fireplace for heat. Fuck this dude.
A giant middle finger to Putin. Love it!
Saw it first hand. We had a homeowner meeting (think 200 people) and decided against turning on heating despite the temperate dropping below the needed minimum to start and basically agreed we will do so only by end of this month, saving a whole month of gas for a large apartment building. We also agreed on lowering the temperature in the pipes by some 5-ish degrees between 23:00-5:00 further saving gas (a degree in this case would be equal to 4% extra costs) and my understanding is that the neighboring flats did the same. And thats on top of what everyone will for sure do on their own volition, saving their private consumption.
Wait but I was told we’d freeze to death in germany
