Already sounds like they either reneged or there was some serious miscommunication from their SU.
So Toby Young thinks that female only spaces are important (a valid point of view), but that spaces for black students to comfortably express themselves are not?
When I as at uni in 2009 our SU’s elected diversity officer was allegedly prevented from attending a conference because he happened to be white.
It’s the Daily Mail though, so this probably misrepresented.
Yeaaah, they shouldn’t do that as it’s racist and well, if they did it the other way around, it would still be racist. That and Student Unions tend to be power hungry or ran by at least one dickhead who believes they are doing what is right when really, they are just fucking it up.
Isn’t one of the main points of black history month that white people are ignorant of it and should learn more to help empathise etc?
Excluding white people seems a bit counterproductive to me.
Good. Those students don’t need to waste their time on that bullshit. They should crack on with their dissertations instead. Stop trying to be friends with people who don’t like you.
My Grandad is a Black Briton, although I’m pretty white passing.
Can I watch the first 1/4 of the film they’re showing? Or if it’s an hour long lecture, would I be alright to watch the opening remarks?
