So it looks like this happened in CH! At least it looks like it if you look closely at the Tesla plate numbers. Irrespective of where it happened, can someone explain if the Truck driver is committing any offense? Especially, that the protesters are on the Zebra Crossing?

  1. It’s crazy that the most liked comment is about how it should be legal to run people over.

  2. The truck driver committing an offense? Those morons are lucky that the truck driver was that patient.

  3. I can understand both sides.

If I need to reach an appointment within my thight schedule (which is almost always the case if I’m on the road) then I obviously don’t need people blocking the traffic that is f*cked anyway even more and on pourpose.

On the other hand the passivity with which politics and public have been reacting to the climate crisis for decades obviously makes one more and more desperate.

Blocking the entrances of council halls and hand-picked governement buildings could maybe be a good compromise. (I know that this also has been done.)

  4. There are some more Reasons that it happend in Switzerland.
    -Bicylce drive regardless
-Mercedes Dealers are to expensive in other countrys
-The One Female Protester wears mountainboots with Jeans
    And at least
    -the protesters wear luminous vests

  5. The only thing I could fault the truck driver would be the zebra crossing.

I have zero empathy for people blocking the road to protest the government or whatever.

You’re mad at the government or a company and bother random people on the road who are completely unrelated to the event? Fuck you. Go burn down the parliament or something but don’t block commuters

  6. Anyone opposing these protests would also have called Rosa Parks an asshole for stopping innocent workers on the bus from getting to work. Sometimes change requires disruption.

  7. LKW fährt durch Klima-Aktivisten – Firma untersucht Vorfall

    https://www.20min.ch/story/lkw-faehrt-durch-klima-aktivisten-firma-untersucht-vorfall-283957180591

    So here it says:

I did not fact check it, and it’s 20min.

  8. The activist group is called “Renovate Switzerland”, and their goal is to get the government to create more/better rules, incentives or even laws to insulate houses in Switzerland so they are more energy efficient.

How blocking commuter traffic translates to this goal I cannot fathom, but hey…

  9. The protesters appear to have a red light, if that changes anything. I personally don’t understand how making a lot of traffic sit idling their engines helps with climate change.

  10. The thing is: They should do whatever they want, as long they not affecting others.

BUT: I would really really really love to see when the police is taking them off the street and the ‘protesters’ are losing skin xD THAT would be so funny. Or someone would piss or sh*t on them.

And yeah, I’m Vegetarian, I flew once in my Life, I don’t have any driver licence… So I’m doing already more than many others xD (And of course I have a Fairphone and not an IPhone) But I still think they are stupid, and stupid actions need to be punished (They glue their hands on asphalt, so the police should act like in Paris, take them away from the street)…

The truck driver did the right thing, imo.

I mean come on… What should the politicans do? Everyone is a voter with their feet as well. No one is forced to eat meat.. And the most aren’t forced to drive a car (I said the most! If someone is working as baker or something like this, I really get it, why you need a car.) And you don’t have to fly every year in an another country… You don’t have to buy every month new clothes ect. So why should be politics responsible for your action? I don’t understand that at all… And that’s why I think they are stupid as f*ck…

  11. yes switzerland. one of the smallest and still best developed countries on earth has to do even more to fight climate change while china, india, etc do crap about it. it doesnt matter AT ALL what we do in CH.

  12. I am sure the truck driver committed numerous offenses, as traffic law is very strict in Switzerland. Maybe he gets off the hook as he was at same time victim of a crime – the protesters committed at least a Nötigung. I sure would let him walk, if it was up to me, since I very much understand him and he did not harm anyone.

  13. alles dummi hünd wo sich nur no meh gegner machet ih dem sie lüt wo eif nur hei wennd stresset

    wük en 1 IQ move

gönd uf bern vorem bundeshus go protestiere aber stresset ned lüt ih ihrem altag

  14. I’m really tired of these people here in Switzerland. Yes, go protest in front of the government and not block streets while people drive trucks to “survive”. Room temp IQ attempt from all the protesters. And sadly, most of them are without a job and have too much free time.

  15. The stupidity of this is beyond me. They are asking for 4billion to invest in upgrading realestate to a more energy efficient standard.
So i guess all the Material and work to be done will not use energy to save energy? It‘s the same with electric cars, the amount of energy and waste far out weighs any old diesel truck!

  16. I missed my train to work because of this. I know they fight for the good but some of us get in trouble for being late at work and i completely understand the truck driver because they are in his way

  17. Probably not legal on is part, but there is little sympathy for protesters who intrude on public.

I for one hope they ramp up accountability for stunts like this, protesters like that must not go unpunished

  18. I dont understand why people block the street. You are just interfering with people’s lifes and you wont gain anything.

Go and protest at the politics houses. Go protest where politicians gather.

  19. Truck drivers are under quite a bit of stress to get on time and typically would get shit from their higher-ups for not hitting those deadlines.

I never understood activism like this where activists are trying to elicit hate for their cause.
Like what are you trying to do? If you trying to get me on board it’s not working, because I fucking hate you now.

  20. Truck driver is only trying to get paid, and probably sat there for minute for those guys to move. A licence revoke would have massive implications on him (no more job). What he did was dangerous but he didn’t try to kill anyone. If these protestors really want to make a change, they need to be more direct. Target the decision makers, e.g CEOs etc, and maybe try methods that doesn’t just outright inconvenience their lives. Or educate and reach out to as many consumers as possible and inform them about a greener safer alternative whilst also not lose any quality of life.
