I just got the bill and it’s about equal to the non-indexed cadastral income. That’s much higher than what I expected, someone told me it should be half that. Being a home owner is not all fun I guess.
I registered on MyTax on [fisc.brussels](https://fisc.brussels) and applied for discount for the kids and there was another discount (BE HOME) that seemed applicable so I applied to that as well – but still no indication of a formula or an expectation of how much my bill will be reduced.

About half of the *indexed* cadastral income is expected.
Well don’t forget that its calculated on the indexed cadastral income, which is roughly double the non-indexed value.
You can find the tarrifs here: https://fiscaliteit.brussels/nl/de-onroerende-voorheffing
The sum of community (1.25%) agglomeration (12.4%) and communal taxes (37% for 1000 Brussels) approximates 50% so 50% of double the non-indexed cadaster roughly approximates it.
If you think the cadastral value is wrong, check with the Federal government.
If you think you have the right to a certain reduction, file a proof against the Brussels fiscal authorities.
About the non-indexed cadastral income seems correct. In flanders it’s a lot lower.
