While this is grotesque in general. It’s 2400 for the whole unit which sleeps six. That’s 400 a month for the pleasure of a single bed in a container in Meath. Still disgusting, but your title makes it seem like a troll ad whereas it’s sadly believable at those prices.
That looks like a place for people considered not quite slave labour to live. Grim
Ha I was gonna say I’ve seen ppl on Instagram and YouTube do amazing things with containers turning them into modern beautiful homes.
Then I looked at the pics and thght 😱😱
“BER exempt” like fuck it is. With the way housing is at the moment, modular housing could be part of the solution but this is grim.
Fuck me, imagine paying 2400 a month to live in sub-refugee camp standard accommodation.
And of course, no planning permission for the these.
The kitchen doesn’t even have a few presses
“as seen all across Australia.”
Well isn’t that fancy!!
It’s grim but considering it is available weekly & monthly it is possibly aimed at companies who need temporary accommodation for workers.
There is refugee accommodation in Berlin at Tempelhofer Feld that is honestly better than this.
These “tempohomes” that have been made to be insulated housing units from the start that happen to use a container sized footprint that allows them to be easily shipped in and out of an area. They’re plumbed, wired, have little porches and all are fit with those big multi tilt German windows. I think they might even have AC?
Think about that for a second. A fellow EU nation can supply refugees fleeing war and persecution a better standard of accommodation than this offering from the private market in Ireland.
What an utter fucking embarrassment.
I’d twisht their necks!
Electric heating I see. That’s going to cost a fucking bomb during the winter.
Looks better than most shitholes in Dublin for the same price. Fucking container looks more spacious than gaff in Dublin. I’ll take it. No mould too. A steal.
“Modular sleeping accommodation as seen all across Australia”
I spent a few years in Australia, besides building sites I can’t say I seen them anywhere across Australia. Unless they are popular in the centre of the continent…
You can rent a 4 bed house in Offaly for €1600 so why would you?
There are some seriously nasty and downright greedy fuckers operating in this country who would screw their own mother out of a few bob. You’d want a neck like a jockey’s bollocks to try something like this😡😡😡
It’s not all that bad. At least you’ll have the local construction workers around for their lunch break every day.
Sure, you’ll spend a lot of money but your social skills will go through the roof which, admittedly, is only about 6 feet high.
As an American of Irish descent, I’ve dreamed more than a few times of what it’d be like to have a place in the home country. But this is gotten me thinking- maybe not. No Irish cottage vibe here. Guess I’ll just watch’The Secret of Roan Inish’ and dream.

Big ‘building site canteen’ vibes from this

EDIT: Its 2,400 for the whole unit as opposed to a bed, still grim as fuck obviously.
