The Idalion bilingual is a bilingual Cypriot–Phoenician inscription found in 1869 in Dali, Cyprus. It was the key to the decipherment of the Cypriot syllabary, in the manner of the Rosetta Stone to hieroglyphs. It is dated to 388 BCE and is now housed at the British Museum [2500×1837]

  1. The Pheonicians were such a great culture, not only did they help develop the Greek alphabet, but they helped us decipher so many ancient cultures languages and built up tons of Mediterranean areas, Cyprus being the best one of course

  2. nope, that’s there is a modern rock, it has a code printed on the bottom. if you google that code you will see it was made in 1972 at a boston dockworkers, who used to eat egg sandwiches with HP brown sauce in-between shifts
