Hello! Please remove if not allowed.
Canadian here with Swedish roots. My grandfather recently passed away who was very proud of his Swedish heritage. I inherited this item that belonged to him. Can somebody please explain to me where he may have acquired this and what it is? 🙂
From what I can gather off Google it’s two children dancing around a maypole at some sort of Swedish festival?
Any details about this item would be great! Thank you! ❤️

That is a knickknack of a swedish midsummer pole. The object isnt something special, it just depicts the traditional celebration of midsummer in sweden with flower wreaths, dancing, folk clothes and stuff.
You dance around a maypole on Midsommar, this depicts Midsommar.
It’s a holy symbol describing *the sacrifice of Glenn (Glennblotet)*. Every year someone named Glenn is sacrificed to the old gods and this pole springs up as a symbol that the old ones are pleased.
Then people dance and are happy because they won’t die.
That’s a sacred swingers trophy!
They dance around a big cock, to celebrate the male genitalia
here you can read about Midsommarafton (Midsummer Eve)
