Hey guys,
I have a USD account in a polish bank, and I need to convert those USD to PLN also in a polish bank account.
[Revolut](https://www.revolut.com/en-PL/currency-converter/) has a monthly limit and their accounts are in LT, meaning there would be an extra transfer fee from my USD account to Revolut, and from Revolut to my PLN account.
[TransferWise](https://wise.com/) is popular but it seems ridiculously expensive. Maybe it could make sense to transfers outside of Poland, but not in this case.
[Walutomat](https://www.walutomat.pl/en/exchange-rates/usd-pln/) seems to be the easiset and cheapest option.
Any other noteworthy options?

Thank you!

  1. Walutomat or cinkciarz are okay – they’re slightly more expensive than revolut but still, their prices are reasonable.

  2. You can top up Revolut with your USD card … usually there is a 9k EUR/day limit which is introduced by a card operator. Also there is a limit how much money you can exchange having a standard account. With premium account (30 PLN/month) there are no limits. AFAIK there is a cancellation fee if you decide to use premium account for less than a year (2 x premium account cost, therefore 60 PLN).

https://kantor.aliorbank.pl/ has also good rates (it is part of Alior Bank). If you exchange more money, you can ask for better rates.

Remember that walutomat and cinkciarz are private companies with no insurance in case of bankruptcy (maybe I am wrong here?).

Banks have insurance up to 100k EUR.

  3. There is no fees for adding money into revolut using a card neither is there a fee for sending money to a bank from revolut. I use it all the time to get dollars sent into it and then convert and transfer money to EUR/PLN accounts

If you do it regularly it’s definitely worth it getting premium

  4. Can you open another account in PLN with your bank? That could be an option I guess…
You should be able to deposit/transfer/move money from USD account to PLN account at your bank’s exchange rate.

  5. How come Wise is expensive? I use it for 3 years and it is the best thing ever. I have real exchange rate and when the last time I transferred 10k from my Wise to Polish bank I paid 1,82 PLN for everything
