    It’s annoying how they keep claiming the basic things that any sane government would have to do in a crisis as a shield as if they are somehow virtuous for it. Yes they provided support to stabilise the energy market but that’s literally one of the basic things that they are there for as the government of the country (although they apparently had to be forced into it). If they hadn’t then Labour would be 40 points ahead not 30 and we’d have mass protests.

    The reason people want to talk about the other stuff rather than that is because these are the real choices they are making about the direction of the country not just patting them on the back for doing the basics. In this case these choices appear to be absolutely destroying our economy and that seems to deserve some discussion. That they can’t seem to understand that says a lot.
