The money wouldn’t cover the cost of maintenance and cleaning of the toilets.

People should be free to shit and piss on the floor in public and have it cleaned up by a team of miniature robots. The fact that technology has yet to advance to this stage is hugely disappointing.

As others have said you can just ignore it, there’s no barriers or anything. But also paying for toilets is quite typical in other parts of Western Europe and they actually have people doing fee collecting
The toilets in Cork bus station charge you to enter through a turnstile and they’re fucking putrid.
And yet Dublin bus still don’t take contact less payment.
