Fair enough, looks like hes turned his farm into a massive tourist attraction.
Edit: Binge watched this last night and am glad to report, I stand by every word I say. I could even add more, but don’t want to offend the Clarkson crowd.
Put it simply for the simple folk once more – It isn’t a show about farming, IT IS A SHOW ABOUT JEREMY CLARKSON TRYING TO OPEN A FARM!
OP;
Well I mean.
It is blatantly for the purposes of TV.
So either they’re doing it to cause drama for the show , or they’re being genuine and trying to close a farm which has become a tourist attraction and TV backdrop.
Having never seen the show, but judging from his T.G exploits, he probably thinks he should be treated differently because he is on TV.
I think the big thing here is the order to stop selling produce not made on the farm or within 16 miles. This would suggest that the farm has been selling stuff not produced on the farm. Which suggests it isn’t a real working farm.
Which would fit perfectly into Clarkson’s m.o, as most of the random “happenings” in T.G were down to him and obviously staged.
Of course, there’s the other side of it in that the added tourism should outweigh the negative effects.
But let us not forget that they’re there to see the farm and probably only the farm.
The fact that Clarkson reportedly tried to be clever and trick them isn’t exactly going to place him in a level of trust.
I can’t believe this dinosaur is still being watched, but… then I realise we have had Johnson and Truss as PM’s of late.
He is slightly entertaining in a Boris Johnson kind of way, but quickly runs out of oil.
I see his appeal to middle England, TG fans, Tories and whatnot, but this is a bloke who once setup a shot on a bridge so that he could call an Asian bloke a “slope” on national TV.
If that doesn’t make you think differently about the trueness of Clarkson’s Farm, then I don’t know what will. A run for PM show perhaps?
He’s seen one of the many daytime farm shows on TV and decided to do a cover version with bigger stakes. The reviews are glowing for it, but would said reviews be as big if he didn’t do T.G and G.T?
In fact, one step further, would he even genuinely have a farm if he hadn’t been on T.G and G.T?
I’m just waiting for the other two bellends to buy farms next to him…
If you really think about it though, he should shut it and continue with his farming show… But then, how would they get a second series with no scope nor drama?
So either this is a fake notice to bake viewing figures and boil a second series, or it is a true notice to stem viewing figures and cool a second series.
Either way, I’m off to download it from /piracy and see if it is as staged as Top Gear.
When Clarkson says “This is not staged, it is a real working farm that would be working without the cameras” (or to that effect), you know that most of the times when people say that, that they are more often than not, lying for the purposes of entertainment.
I see another episode being written
When you lose diddly squat but still end up with diddly squat.
Based purely on the pictures in that article it looks like an eyesore. No wonder the local council isn’t happy. Can’t be doing much for local property prices, either.
I really liked that show, I couldn’t stand that guy previously.
Planning exists for a reason though, his actions are making the local community’s infrastructure suffer. I’m sure there is a way where he can do it without causing disruption and breaking rules designed to protect the area. It sets a bad example if they show you can do as you like.
If you start a successful business don’t worry there will be a council clipboard man turning up to say you’re not allowed. Unless you’re a mega corporation of course.
