>self identification” would undermine the safety of women-only spaces. JK Rowling has previously argued the new law would harm the most vulnerable women.
I never understood these arguments, like what’s been stopping people from invading “women only spaces” for the past 100 years? It’s not exactly like a Predator or anyone like that is gonna go through the process of changing their gender just to perv or assault women when they could do it much easier than that.
These arguments most people see as blatant transphobia, I like to be a bit more considerate of people and instead think the majority of them just are afraid of things they don’t understand and have to find someone be it a group or individual to place their fears and hatred onto.
Also side note, why is it always Transwomen who get this perspective as rapists and pervs? Nobody seems concerned about transmen doing the same? I guess the same argument should be made for Lesbian women as well, but I guess the answer is that these particularly women only believe you can rape if you’re
male.
Someone recently pointed out that JK Rowling and Vladimir Putin are both billionaires who seem to have gone slightly crazy and started blaming trans people for everything that’s wrong in the world.
I don’t think *quite* as many people are disappointed by how far Putin’s fallen since the late 1990s.
