> Many are being kept in the country because of their membership in Kurdish associations or criticism of the Turkish government, according to the daily.
>Some people linked to the Gülen movement also face detention or arrest in Turkey on accusations that they are members of a “terrorist” organization.
This is truly fascinating and horrifying as a neighboring country.
We’re watching a country in real time collapse into authoritarian dictatorship. The Turkish public is forbidden, with a punishment of 3 years In jail, to speak out against its own government as it can be branded as misinformation now.
I’ve been arguing with you Turks for decades, mostly about the Cyprus problem but more so lately about your own government.
I’m terrified for you as I don’t think you all understand what is about to unfold in turkey.
Turkey hates democracy, but doesn’t want people from democracy’s to leave since they have too much potential. Basic authoritarianism. “Our people are the best, the most sophisticated, but we must control them to the fullest, since if they are given a speck of freedom our nation will collapse in the aftermath of our peoples barbarism”
clown countries
